Resin Infusion will produce a stronger, stiffer and lighter boat by the simple fact that only the required amount of resin is used, and no air is able to "void" the carbon cloth resulting in weakness.

Using vacuum pressure to draw the epoxy resin into the carbon fibre fabric provides many structural benefits. The infusion process creates a high performance laminate in one "shot", eliminating secondary bonding problems. The process provides fibre to resin ratios as high as 70:30 along with the virtual elimination of air entrapment and voids.
The key to the process is the vacuum formed by the closed circuit which terminates in the high pressure collecting pot. Once the various carbon cloths have been fitted and laid out, special spiral tubes that carry the resin are put into carefully pre-calculated "track" positions along the carbon cloth before the final vac-bag is sealed into position.

You can have all the technology going but it is worthless unless strict procedures are adhered to by skilled operatives.

Our workforce operates as a Team, each member has been highly trained "inhouse" (our standard of manufacture cannot be learnt in college!) in the wide range of boat building operations making them multi-skilled with many years experience.

The air is then sucked out creating and maintaining a powerful vacuum. The taps on the spirals are opened and the correct volume of resin is drawn to impregnate the carbon cloths. Any excess resin is pulled out and terminates in the collecting pot.

The whole Resin Infusion process cutting edge technology. We have pioneered the process for rowing,

All the Evoluiton-i Single Scull component parts along with the Evolution range of decks and slide track panels are made using this advanced process.

To incorporate much of the new technology specialised moulds were needed. We have had to invest heavily in these new moulds right across the board.

Seat moulds, slide deck panels, right through to new hull moulds. All these have been produced by ourselves to our own exacting high standards - the result will be seen and felt every time you take a stroke!

Every single component and piece of material is of the highest quality available. Each one of our suppliers are leading manufacturers of composite materials within their specialist area.

The cloth is either specially woven to our exacting specifications or we obtain the same material as supplied to the aeronautical industry.
The same policy is applied to all the components that make up the construction of the boat. This is reflected even in the smallest detail, so for example, all anodised components are specified to the deepest, toughest finish.

At times it is not always possible to obtain the required component, this is when we will commission a leading supplier to make it to our specification or make it ourselves!

With this in mind our riggers, seats, stretchers etc. are all manufactured "in house", our slide track, seat running gear, and stretcher track are all custom made to our design.

Many of the unique features that translate into a faster rowing boat are the result of our vast rowing knowledge and our constant revaluation of the accepted.

Recent examples include our ridge deck with integral breakwater, sloping slide track decks, "U" section shoulders, the introduction of resin infusion and as you can see, Ray is giving his final approval to our new Genesis Single before applying his Genesis signature!
